Case study · Hospitality
A kitchen that changes daily and a site that keeps up.
Varjača Express is an express kitchen in Podgorica whose offer changes every day. We built a site on its own domain that the owner updates himself and that search can actually find.

The problem
The offer changes every day. That is good news for guests and bad news for any site built like a brochure: a menu written once is already wrong the next morning. On top of that, an express kitchen does not sell online. No cart, no delivery, no reservations. All a guest needs is the answer to two things: what is on today, and where are you. If they don't get it in a few seconds, they call somewhere else or they don't call at all. So the job wasn't "build a site". It was to make content that changes every day without a developer, and to ship nothing that keeps the guest on the page longer than necessary.
The calls that shaped the site
Six decisions made on purpose, the reason the site looks and behaves the way it does.
- 01
The daily menu is data, not a picture
Six days in tabs, dish by dish, out of a database. Today is matched by date rather than by position in the list, so the "TODAY" marker is right on a Monday and on a Saturday, with nobody touching it.
- 02
The owner updates it himself
The site ships with a protected panel for the menu, promotions and photos. Changing the menu is a two-minute job for the owner, not an email to us and a wait.
- 03
One goal: the phone call
No cart, no contact form. Call and map sit in a bar that stays on screen while you scroll on a phone. Everything else on the page exists to make that call easier.
- 04
The kitchen's rule, stated up front
Beef, veal, chicken and fish. No pork, no mixed meat. That is the kitchen's rule and it sits in the first screen, because it is the question a guest asks before ordering anyway.
- 05
One address, not three
Moving to varjaca.me pointed everything old at a single address, www redirects to the bare domain, and the canonical, sitemap and menu markup line up with the Google Business Profile. One site, one address, one record in search.
- 06
Reviewed before it went live
Before launch the site went through a security pass: security headers, file validation on upload, rate-limited login. Since it went live, an automated check confirms every morning that it is up.
What it looks like

The result
The site is live on its own domain, the menu changes without us, and the business profile and the site now say the same thing. These are numbers we measured, not estimates.

How it's built
Next.js for the site itself, a Postgres database for the menu and gallery, photo upload straight from the panel. The animations are there to lead the eye down the page, not to show off.

“My offer changes every day and I did not want a site that had to be touched because of it. This one does not, I type the menu in myself, in two minutes, no phone calls and no waiting.”
