Case study · Our own product

A gift we turned into a product.

Digitalno Ljubavno Pismo is not client work, it is our own product: a personalized site given instead of flowers. The interesting part is how work that is hand-assembled by nature got packaged into an offer that sells itself, with no cart and no sales call.

The problem

A personalized gift cannot be shipped from a template. Every site carries somebody else's photos, dates and story, so building one is hand work by definition. The problem is the buyer. Usually it is a guy whose anniversary is in two days, who found us on Instagram, on his phone, with no mental picture of what a "personalized site" even is. He will not read a product description and he will not fill in a fourteen-field form. So the job was not to build a pretty site. It was to build an offer: something understood in thirty seconds, where the price is visible, the deadline is visible, and buying starts with a single message.

The calls that shaped the product

Six decisions made on purpose, and the reason this product sells the way it does.

  1. 01

The demo sells, not the description

Instead of explaining what the buyer gets, we let him walk into a finished site. The live example uses an invented couple but carries every feature his own will have. That is the one thing that turns "I don't get it" into "I want this".

  2. 02

    A letter, not a page

The site does not open like a site. The wax seal cracks, the flap lifts, the letter comes out. The first screen has to provoke a reaction, because a gift that provokes none is not a gift.

  3. 03

    Prices are on the page

Three tiers, €49, €79 and €119, with a clear difference and struck-through items each tier does not include. No "contact us for a quote". A buyer who has to ask the price usually does not ask, he closes the tab.

  4. 04

    Conversion goes to DM

No cart, no checkout. The call to action leads to Instagram, WhatsApp or email, because the buyer is already there and because for this gift the first step is a conversation, not a payment. Payment is bank transfer or cash, whichever suits.

  5. 05

    Real poetry, not generated verse

Verses by Šantić, Kostić and Dučić, or an original poem written for that couple. A gift given once in a lifetime does not survive text that reads like a filled-in field.

  6. 06

The deadline is part of the offer

24 to 48 hours, stated in the first screen. The buyer almost always arrives with a date he cannot move, which makes the deadline as important as the price. To keep that deadline realistic, the content is requested as one list: photos, dates, nickname, a few sentences.

The result

The product is live on its own .com domain, in two languages, with a demo that does the work of the first sale. These are numbers we measured, not estimates.

How it's built

Next.js, Tailwind and Framer Motion for the letter-opening animation and the transitions between sections. No database and no admin panel, because each site is assembled once and then simply stays up and works.
